It was a love of skiing that brought them together, so it was only appropriate that Helen and Kristian should tie the knot against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains in Park City, Utah. The couple met while skiing in August 2013 in Portillo, Chile: she was on a vacation with several friends, he was there solo to experience the world-famous snow. Though they lived in separate cities Stateside, the couple dated long-distance for two years before becoming engaged and moving together to San Francisco. Last April, they were married at the Montage Deer Valley before 130 guests from around the world. Helen wore a dress by Vera Wang and was walked down the aisle by her father, Thomas J. Whalen. The couple danced to “In My Life” by The Beatles, Kristian’s pick as the most romantic song ever written. For their honeymoon, the couple left immediately for Paris and then traveled to Chamonix—naturally—for skiing and snowboarding. 102 QUEST
