Housing: We can house your bulls until turn out time if you would like. We will charge you our cost to care for them and bulls must be insured if you leave them in our care. The Penguin delivers! She is the 100% premium performing dam of this stud and more like him including the top bull that Brad Shumaker, IL, got here in 2022 and the $8,700 bred that Brad Smith, IA, selected from our 2023 lineup. She is 3-for-3 and this one might be her best. He is a great mover with balance and presence on a just-right frame score and that hair…is big time. A son of the limited and way-proven Somewhere In the Middle, sire of greats like our $105,000-valued Crossover, here is a sound and meaty product of one of our favorite blends. We have used great Chiangus bulls on strong Simmental lines to create some of our favorite producers today. This one is backed by Effling’s famous Bobbi 30H donor and his maternal sister by True North already sold for $20,000. His sire is one of our best kept secrets and this son also has a valuable does of 5.2% Chi in his veins.

It is surely a great time to be in the cow/calf business and we are excited about the rewards available now for better cattle producers. This is our largest offering of Sim-influenced bulls and the crop is headlined by stout sons of Cardinal Merit, our 2021 top purebred, and calving ease and performance sons of Cardinal True North, our 2020 top seller. We have a strong set of phenotype-based Angus bulls and the first crop by Honour 16H is well represented by a deep lineup of his calving ease and maternal sons. This is our best crop of Chiangus bull ever, no doubt, as the first sons of Cardinal Crossover are very exciting and unique, plus we have some unique Maine-influenced bulls again this year. industry. We are getting plenty of calls and comments lately from bull buyers about their steady birth weights, increased pay weights, and improved quality in their replacement females. This is the good stuff and the best part about being in the seedstock business. We were honored to have been recognized by the Illinois Beef Association as its 2023-24 Seedstock Producer of the Year. Over the last 10 years we have gotten particularly aggressive about investing in our own cow herd and its management, and it is very fulfilling to watch it pay off. We are continuing to invest and reinvest in cutting-edge genetics to raise our level so that you can raise yours. The award was nice, but rest assured that we will keep pushing to improve our products and services; this is just the beginning. The 801F cow strikes again! Last spring brought our first crop from our Canadian-born, outcross, calving ease sire, Honour 16H, and we have been very pleased with the results.
