Invoking the spirit of Churchill at
The KBO Ball near Stamford KBO was an expression used by Winston Churchill in times of trouble and uncertainty. The same spirit was invoked by three good friends supporting each other through the highs and lows of their respective cancer treatments, who decided they wanted to do something positive to raise £48,000 for the charities closest to their hearts, and most importantly, to have some fun! They agreed that hosting a ball would be the perfect conduit, and the event served to remember two of the three friends in particular, who received amazing 24-hour support thanks to the event’s beneficiary Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice. The event was held at the newly refurbished Haycock Hotel. n
