Walter Graham Morris, Jr. Aug. 15, 1924 ~ Sept. 24, 2016

Walter Graham Morris, Jr., 92 of Cañon City died Saturday morning surrounded by his beloved dogs. He was born Aug. 15, 1924, in Miami, Florida to parents, Walter G Morris, Sr. and Geraldine Clarke. Walter was part of the pioneers who built Miami. Walter served in the Navy in WWII. He made a career of sixty years in the television, movie and theater industry as a lighting director (gaffer). He was a member of I.A.T.S.E. local 545 and was a charter member of Studio Mechanics local 477. Walter worked for years with the Ivan Tors studio to produce family oriented television series and films such as the Flipper TV series, Gentle Giant, The Everglades TV series, and Gentle Ben TV series to name a few. He helped make many movies to include Jackie Gleason and Burt Reynolds movies, Smokey

and the Bandit, Jerry Lewis movies, Cocoon II, Police Academy 5, Caddy Shack, Around the World Under the Sea, African Queen, Stanley, Miami Blues and over 100 national commercials. He was a father, grandfather, and great grandfather who with his wife, Margaret, worked as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Perrine, Florida. He is remembered by his children, Barry and wife Ann, Carolyn Merriman, Patrick and wife Barbara, and Andrew and wife Doreen. His grandchildren, Justin Brown and wife, Wendy, and Branden Morris and wife, Andralyn. His great grandchildren, Zion and Selah Brown and Kaysen Morris. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Lifeway Southern Baptist Church in Cañon City.

Timothy K. Lynn Sept. 2, 1951 ~ Sept. 21, 2016

Timothy Lynn, of Cañon City lived past his 43rd wedding anniversary and his 65th birthday to pass peacefully on the last day of summer, Sept. 21, 2016. He will be missed by his wife, Judi; son, Keith; two sisters, Terry Smith and Barbara Recktenwald; and dear friends in several countries. At the age of 17, Tim started his professional Timothy K. career in the copy machine industry where Lynn he excelled for 45 years. In his work, he made so many lifelong friends, traveled the globe and was a top salesman with Canon USA for several years running. His passion, other than reaching sales goals, was to revive classic muscle cars and older trucks which he often did alongside both his sons,

Matt and Keith. His great dream was to race the Bonneville Salt Flats at 160 miles per hour in his best friend, Sean O’Brien’s, 1934 Ford Coupe. From the beginning the two men had started modifications on this car together. Although his advanced dementia/ Alzheimer’s prevented him from this speed dream, the car hit its goal just this summer. Tim would have been thrilled! There will be no formal service as the family will remember Tim privately as he wanted. Richard Kopic Richard Kopic passed away Sept. 18, 2016, after a brief illness. Richard was born March 22, 1944, to Steve James Kopic and Frances Lasko Kopic and was a lifelong resident of Fremont County. He is survived by his brother, Charles Kopic, wife, Sarah Kopic, and stepdaughter, Aicha Menendez He will be missed by many friends and relatives. Richard had a kind and caring heart and frequently helped out his neighbors and friends. He always

had a soft-spot for strays and loved to garden. He had a great love of all things beautiful and spent much of his time at his beloved Webster Park. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be sent to Mother Theresa’s Missionaries of Charity. A memorial gathering will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at 2126 County Road 3, 2 miles south of Parkdale on the east.
