We are Opening a New Coworking for Foreigners

Have you heard of the new coworking centre for foreigners that will serve not only as a working area but also as a base for networking, education, and consultations? If not, then mark you calendars. The Centre for Foreigners JMK will officially open the doors of its new coworking on Feburary 19, 2025.
What can you expect? Imagine a place where coziness and functionality meets. A place created for your working needs and moments of rest. The new coworking centre offers a pleasant and flexible work environment. You can make coffee and get to know new people in the kitchen. The Centre for Foreigners is also thinking of the parents; a children’s play area enables parents to work while their children play.
A Space for Work and Inspiration The coworking centre is not only about work. It is a place where you can meet interesting people, share your ideas and get new impulses. It will also offer seminars and workshops aimed at navigating the labor market and career development. Olha, Nasťa, and Lili, our information workers, will be available to answer any question regarding the career consultations. Whether you are looking for a calm space to finish your project or a place where you can be inspired by new opportunities, here you can find both.
Opening Ceremony At the opening ceremony on 19 February, you will not only get to know the new space, but you can also look forward to many interesting activities. The pro-
gramme will include a presentation of the Centre for Foreigners of the South Moravian Region, a demonstration of the services offered, a meeting with career counsellors and a short lecture on a current topic in the field of professional development. Coworking was created thanks to the financial support of the International Organization for Migration.
Photo Exhibition If you want to make use of your time while waiting for the coworking to open, we have one tip for you. Until February 10th you can visit the unique photo exhibition titled MATKY (Mothers) from Kateřina Kačírek Wiecková in the foyer of the South Moravian regional office. The photos capture the life of ten moms that live and raise their children in Brno. These women come from all corners of the Earth; from Vietnam, Ukraine,
Moldova and Kazakhstan to USA, Turkey, or India. The exhibition organised by the Centre for Foreigners is a loose continuation of the author’s document Žinky (Fairies) and the exhibition titled WOMEN in Spain.
Parenthood in a Foreign Land The Brno Centre for Foreigners also offers a whole spectrum of services for parents and children; the Tykadla club, Czech language courses, workshops, lectures, yoga lessons and others. So next time you find yourself near Kounicova 13, don’t forget to stop and take a look at what is going on in the Centre.
