Arobi is the name the Arabs gave the “island of harmony” in the 15th century. And our hotel is the epitome of this state of mind. In harmony with the surroundings are the 172 suites and three villas with private pool set in the peninsula of Le Morne, embraced by the eponymous mountain, a UNESCO world heritage site, and overlooking a seven kilometre-long white strand in one of the most spectacular lagoons on the island. Harmony, we said, is the watchword. The interiors reflect the Mauritian art de vivre and are in colonial colours, with precious fabrics and fine woods galore, found in the communal living areas and in the spacious suites with bathrooms bathed in natural light and large sea scented verandas. Private swimming pools nestle in emerald green vegetation, mirrors of water in natural slate, surrounded by decking under the shade of palm trees and brought to life by sound of water cascades. Even the restaurants, connected by wooden bridges and walkways, look like islands, and this archipelago of culinary excellence celebrates high cuisine with four restaurants, offering a virtual journey through the flavours of the Mediterranean and Creole cooking, fresh local products and international fusion. by Clarins, in stone and thatch, with a pavilion dedicated to meditation and Ayurvedic treatments and a ‘Japanese’ area offering treatments based on the active principles of water. The last word in wellbeing is the beach spa, two kiosks just a stone’s throw from Le Kabanon bar, devoted to detox massage and yoga lessons at dawn and sunset. Nothing is left to chance for the spa on the beach, and the ritual means that your detox massage is preceded by a briefing (the day before) and the delivery of a special underwear set to your room. The next morning, just before nine o clock, a private club-car will take you to the beach to begin the “Dinarobin sensory awakening experience”, a massage using a blend of essential oils that combines the properties of eucalyptus, geranium, sage, niaouli and Siberian pine, to detoxify, drain and tone every inch of your body. Once the treatment is over, an organic breakfast is served right there on the beach. Together with the Paradis Hotel & Golf Club, Dinarobin expresses a new concept of resort: two luxury five-star hotels, built on the same peninsula but with different characteristics, and thus complementary. Sports facilities, outstanding restaurants and wellbeing centres are “in common” and available to guests from both hotels, without any restrictions. The result: double the perfection.
