Improve Your Balance!
ages 50+ r$80 N$92 Falls among older adults are common, costly, and preventable. Join this class if you want to feel more confident during your favorite activities. We will go over the main factors influencing your balance and learn a set of exercises that will gradually improve your balancing skills. We will use props to add challenge.
Petra is a certified Yoga Therapist and personal trainer specializing in working with seniors.

Sewing & Crafting Circle
ages 50+ Free
Join the Piedmont Recreation Department’s new Sewing & Crafting Circle and socialize while you spend quality time working on your current project. All types of handiwork such as sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, needlepoint, painting, beading, jewelry making, (just to name a few) are welcome. If you don’t have a project to bring, consider starting one! This a no-instructor/social activity. We hope to see you soon.

Walking on Wednesdays

The Walking on Wednesdays group meets every Wednesday at the Exedra (Highland & Magnolia Avenues) at 10:30am. Everyone is invited to join the group. New walkers and their friendly K-9 best friends are especially welcome. Registration with the Piedmont Recreation is required. Please call 510 420-3070 for more information.

The Piedmont Recreation Department (PRD) is committed to providing programs for people of all ages, including our Older Adult (50+) population. PRD Older Adult programs are specially created to provide social and learning opportunities—from pickleball to the arts to fitness, we offer a variety of activities that appeal to older adults, young at heart!

2nd Thursday Flix Fest

This new social group is a way for movie lovers to get together on the second Thursday of the month, see fine films, and talk about them afterward (optional). Watch a movie of a different genre each month, followed by a discussion session for those so inclined. The specific movies will be determined by that month’s volunteer host (with some input from the group). Movie goers may bring a lunch or snacks to enjoy while watching the film.
Doors open at 10:30am and movie starts at 10:45am. Monthly movie themes and event details will be sent to all registrants before each meeting.

Piedmont Seniors Group seniors
A bit of “Joie de Vivre” for Piedmont seniors— especially senior singles— but couples and older “baby boomers” are also encouraged to join. We welcome you to join us as we cultivate new friendships, provide guest speakers, and plan enjoyable excursions such as theaters, museums, restaurants, historical places, and more. Our goal is to strengthen the social and emotional well-being of seniors, as well as promote the pursuit of intellectual development.
