PRD 2023-2024 Recreational Basketball League

The Piedmont Recreation Department’s Recreational Basketball League offers a safe and exciting environment where players will learn the value of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive play Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, our program promises to provide an engaging environment that will fuel your love for the game The teams in the PRD league will play an 8-week schedule, with one game and one practice each week, and all players receive a jersey .

Divisions: The 2023-24 season will be organized into divisions by grade Please note: Teams may be added to a division or new divisions may be created depending upon registration

League Volunteers Needed

Skill Assessments: All players in 3rd-8th grade players are strongly encouraged to attend a skill assessment, regardless of whether they have previously played in a PRD or another league Skill assessments assist coaches in balancing player’s skill abilities across teams, creating more parity in the divisions Register for the league early to be included in assessments which are scheduled for the week of October 30th The schedule for skills assessments will be shared in early October No assessments for 2nd Grade Developmental Division

2nd Grade Girls & Boys Developmental Basketball

Fundamental skill development in a small team environment Full court games will be played with lots of playing time and touches on the ball Each team will have one 45-minute practice during the week one 60-minute game on Saturdays Practice and game schedules to be released closer to the start of the season Practice location subject to change Registration includes a jersey

Develop fundamental skills and learn the importance of teamwork! Each team will have one weekly 60-minute practice Monday–Thursday 6:30–8:30pm or Friday

5–8pm Games are on Sundays between 9:00am–5:00pm Practice times and game schedule will be finalized after teams are created Note: Due to limited facility space, February practices may be relocated to an alternate location to accommodate PHS athletic teams Registration includes a jersey
