Jeanne E. Ficociello In recognition of her cum laude status in the classroom and her three-sport career at Andover, Jeanne Ficociello was named Athlete of the Year in 1996. and was awarded the Yale Bowl at Commencement. She competed on the varsity soccer, basketball, and lacrosse teams, and her talent and leadership in each of those sports were rewarded in unique ways. She was given the Drake Soccer Award for her skills on the pitch, captained her basketball team senior year, and was chosen by the New England Lacrosse Association for their

selective team. Ficociello’s love for and commitment to lacrosse continued at Harvard, where she started on the varsity team all four years and was voted captain of her senior squad. In 2000, her exceptional skills and accomplishments with the Crimson earned her a spot on the Women’s AllTime First Team All–Ivy League team, of which she was a cocaptain. After graduating from Harvard with a bachelor’s degree in biology, she headed to the University of Pennsylvania, where she attended veterinary school and

earned a DVM degree in 2006. Following a one-year internship at a private practice in Los Angeles, Dr. Ficociello returned to Boston as a general practitioner for another year. She then moved west to attend Colorado State University. There, she studied infectious diseases, completed a three-year residency, and earned a master’s degree. A specialist in small animal internal medicine, she currently lives on Boston’s south shore with her Labrador retriever and Chihuahua and works at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in South Weymouth, Mass. 8
