As we embark on 40 years since the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition declared the month of May as National Physical Fitness & Sports Month, the Department remains committed to promoting healthy lifestyles for all residents. Increasing activity levels has immediate positive impacts on your health, both physical and mentally. It can control pre-existing health conditions, help maintain a healthy weight, and reduce anxiety, blood pressure, and risks for chronic diseases.

Our “live more, play more” philosophy is for all ages. The Department seeks to connect you and your whole family to fun and quality life enriching sports and fitness opportunities year-round. If you haven’t joined in yet, May is the perfect time to discover a new exercise class, facility, park, or trail in the County.

During National Physical Fitness & Sports Month, let us all strive to live more, play more, and move more together. Your path to wellness and fun is only one click away! For more information, please send an email to wellness@pgparks.com.
