Rakesh Jain, the A. Werk Cook Professor of Radiation Oncology (Tumor Biology) at Massachusetts General Hospital

Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award

William Kaelin Jr., professor of medicine at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and senior physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, shared the award with Peter Radcliffe, University of Oxford/Francis Crick Institute, and Gregg Semenza, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine

Wolf Prize in Medicine

C. Ronald Kahn, the Mary K. Iacocca Professor of Medicine and chief academic officer and senior investigator at Joslin Diabetes Center, was a co-recipient with Lewis Cantley of Weill Cornell Medical College

National Academy of Sciences

Two faculty members were elected: Myles Brown, professor of medicine and co-director of the Center for Functional Cancer Epigenetics at Dana-Farber Robert Kingston, professor of genetics and chief of the Department of Molecular Biology at Mass General
