WELLINGTON REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

Wellington Regional Medical Center is a 235-bed community hospital conveniently located at the intersection of Forest Hill Boulevard and State Road 7/441 in Wellington.

Since opening its doors more than 30 years ago, Wellington Regional has kept pace with the growing medical needs of our community. It opened in 2019, and is staffed 24/7 with an ER physician and appropriate ancillary staff capable of treating general emergency cases from cuts and bruises to heart attacks and strokes, with the ability to airlift patients to the main hospital if needed.

EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Palms West Hospital offers 24-hour emergency services with specially trained physicians, nurses and support staff equipped to handle adult and pediatric needs with personalized attention. An 18-bed ICU accepts all critically ill patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac and neurological patients. At Palms West Hospital, sick and injured children receive emergency medical treatment in a completely separate, child-focused environment. PEDIATRIC CARE

The Children’s Hospital at Palms West offers a full complement of health care services, including a separate child-friendly emergency department, pediatric intensive care, pediatric sedation for radiology studies, pediatric surgery and pediatric oncology. The pediatric medical staff includes sub-specialists in pediatric cardiology, ENT, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurosurgery, pulmonology and urology. Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Pediatric Specialty Center, a new outpatient location from the venerable children’s health care provider, opened in Wellington in February 2019. Staffed with highly trained pediatric specialists and support personnel, the facility is designed to provide uncompromising outpatient care to the Wellington community in a compassionate and childfriendly setting.

Specialties offered include: audiology, cardiology, craniofacial, a cystic fibrosis clinic, endocrinology, general surgery, immunology, neurology, neurosurgery, orthopaedics, otolaryngology and pulmonology. The center also provides pediatric imaging (MRI and ultrasound), a Pediatric Outpatient Surgery Center and pediatric rehabilitation services.
