Tammy and Pam Vallejo-Laird: Drawn back by the Strength of the Ridge
Pam and I left the Bay area in 2004, moved to Chico and started our forever home search. We looked all over Oroville, Chico and were pulled to Paradise for many reasons. Our must haves were open spaces, large lot, solid house and a great neighborhood with friendly people. We served college internships at the Family Resource Center in the area and helped establish a community lunch program working with the local farmers. After the Camp Fire, our home was the only standing structure around. After repairs we put it on the market; after a while we came to realize our blessing and took the sign down. We now know we are part of a special community whose strength and resolve are powerful. ~ Tammy Vallejo-Laird
