AUBURN SEND-OFF PARTY
On July 26, the Greater Birmingham Auburn Club welcomed another great group of Birmingham-area students and their families to the Auburn Family. Incoming freshmen heard from Auburn representatives, alumni, parents and current students; connected with future classmates and had the opportunity to ask questions about what to expect as they begin their Auburn experience. Congratulations to Amina Tall of Pelham, the winner of the $1,000 Freshman Send-Off Scholarship! Guests also heard from speakers—Rebecca Shurtz, Trent Ponder, Brooks Fuller, Harper Echeverry and John Lewis—who shared their own Auburn experiences. GBAC volunteers helped set up, decorated, prepared welcome bags, worked check-in and made the afternoon a huge success. Best of luck to the newest Auburn Tigers as they head to the Plains! The Greater Birmingham Auburn Club is the largest Alumni Club in the Auburn University system. Of the approximately 6,500 Freshmen that Auburn accepts each year, the Birmingham area represents 20 percent, or over 1,000 members of the Freshman class.
