MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS • GENERAL • INFORMATION ASSURANCE

The management information systems (MIS) degree focuses on the business applications of information technology. Students learn skills required in the analysis, development, evaluation and implementation of information and communication technologies critical for organizations. Degree option available in Tulsa: Information Assurance provides students with in-depth study and hands-on analysis of critical organizational issues in information assurance and security. OSU was named a National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education and Research by the NSA and the Department of Homeland Security. DEGREE REQUIREMENTS • 45 hours must be upper-division. • A 2.0 overall and a 2.2 major GPA are required for graduation. • At least: 60 hours at a four-year institution; 30 hours completed at OSU; 15 of the final 30 and 50% of the upper-division hours in the major field completed at OSU. Limit of: one-half of major course requirements as transfer work; one-fourth of hours earned by correspondence; eight transfer correspondence hours.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? OSU is one of the best values in the Big 12 and has lower tuition and fees than many Tulsaarea schools and online-only institutions. Students taking 15 credit hours (full time) will pay approximately $5,231.25 per semester in tuition and fees and an estimated $630 for books and supplies. (Estimates based on 2017-2018 tuition and fee charges. Books and supplies will vary based on classes taken each semester.) OSU-Tulsa offers financial aid, scholarships and tuition waivers, with several dedicated specifically to transfer students. SOPHOMORE YEAR @ TWO-YEAR SCHOOL Complete admissions application to OSU. Meet with your academic advisor. Meet with an OSU-Tulsa academic counselor to discuss how the credits you’re taking will transfer. Connect with MIS faculty at OSU-Tulsa to learn more about the program and introduce yourself. Your OSU-Tulsa academic counselor can help with this. Submit your FAFSA with school code 003170 along with your OSU application to be considered for scholarships and financial aid. Attend Transfer Day in the spring or fall to finalize your transfer to OSU-Tulsa.
