is the name of its founder, Estelle Francois Sullivan Tober, Bellevue’s first tavern owner (“Grandma’s”) and the creator of the famous “Stella Hamburger.” Stella’s picture is still prominently displayed in the bar. Her son, Al Sullivan and his wife, Mary, took over full-time management of the restaurant in the mid ‘70s, and later sold the business to their cousin, Stephanie Francois, who is Stella’s great, great niece.

How has your business evolved and grown over the years?

MAHA TREE HAS BEEN trimming and removing trees since

1984. We purchased our first crane just three weeks prior to the infamous October snow storm of 1997.

Omaha Tree, for nearly a decade, stood alone as the only tree care company in the Omaha metro area to utilize a telescoping crane for the purpose of removing trees. It provided our company with a much faster, safer and more efficient method of removing trees. In 2007, owner Jeff Mesenbrink was awarded Nebraska Arborist of the Year.

In 2005, we purchased 7 acres of industrial land at 36th & McKinley St and began processing all of our wood waste material into a fine quality mulch product. We process both natural and colorized mulch products, which are sold to various nurseries, landscapers, and homeowners. Our mulch is local, fresh, clean, consistent and is always available for pick-up or delivery.
