Interior Designer Makes Himself at Home in Omaha
Since
Lester Katz moved to Omaha last spring, he has clocked over 46 miles on the Wabash Trace, sipped more than one wine at La Buvette, fallen under the spell of Willa Cather’s My Antonia, and hosted casual gatherings of new friends and colleagues at his Old Market loft. Now moved into a 1922 Craftsman style house under renovation, Katz has plans to host many more gatherings in 2011 and beyond. No moss is growing on Katz’s rolling “getting to know Omaha” stone. Katz has moved around his adult life. He is used to forging new friendships and exploring new cities. But the friendliness of Omaha has set it apart from other cities to which Katz has relocated. “It is the warmest city I ever moved to. I’ve never felt so welcomed in my life,” Katz asserts. Close friendships have been established in a
