It takes a lot of commitment, and a willingness to evolve with the times, to be a thriving business for 43 years. In the case of Center Trophy, it also takes a dedicated family that is willing to step in and help when needed. Duane Madison started the company in 1973, and his son, Brad Madison, took the helm in 1996. "All we did was trophies and plaques for 20 years," says Brad. "Once I bought it I started changing things." He obtained a screen press and an embroidery machine, greatly increasing the capabilities of the shop. "Now we can provide everything our customers need." Though Center Trophy has employed a few nonfamily members over the years, customers can be sure that a Madison has a hand in nearly every project. Brad’s sisters, Jill and Pam, work there; Brad's son, Jake, and daughter, Kallie, are on staff; and his 85-year-old mother, Marcy, still comes in to work every day. "We work hard and we rely on each other," says Brad. Center Trophy is certainly a family affair—and a successful one at that. 5435 Center St. Omaha, NE 68106 402.558.4331 centertrophy.net

Succeeding in the printing business means staying on top of—and right ahead of—the latest trends and innovations. Design Four President and Co-Owner Mindy Chesnut says they continually strive to bring unique products and services to their roster of offerings. “We have people who have been customers for years who will notice something displayed on our counter and say, ‘I didn’t know you guys did this!’ We’re not afraid to try new materials and be innovative.” Design Four is in its 27th year of operation— an impressive feat in an ever-changing industry. Chesnut attributes part of their success to their willingness to try new things. “We welcome odd requests,” she says, adding that they boast quick turnarounds and impressive accuracy rates. Chesnut and husband Nic purchased Design Four three years ago. They stand out because they have the capability to print just about anything—yard signs, metal signs, decals, banners, magnets, static clings, and vinyl graphics as well as being able to route custom shapes in wood, metal, or plastic. If a customer can imagine it, it’s likely Design Four can make it. 3232 H St. Omaha, NE 68107 402.339.6856 design4inc.com

EVERGREEN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT Despite changes and advancements in regulations and technology, at its core, EverGreen Capital Management continues to thrive because of the personal relationships nourished over the past 28 years. Founder Michael Green started EverGreen Capital Management in 1989 following a successful career in banking. As a commercial loan officer, he came to admire his customers who owned their own businesses–which proved to be the genesis for him to start his own business. The company provides private wealth management advice for people and small businesses. Its primary clientele consists of retirees and people who are planning to retire in the next 5-15 years. “I believe the most important factor for our success has been the consistent service to our clients,” Green says. “We work very hard to understand their needs and wants. Money is just a tool to help them attain the goals for their lives. We focus on their goals. “Statistics say there are 10,000 people retiring every day and we are living longer than ever before. That’s a great opportunity.” 909 N. 96th St., Suite 101 Omaha, NE 68114 402.392.1220 evergreencapitalomaha.com
