Bart’s Books is the world’s largest outdoor bookstore, a cute-looking corner store that sells 10,000 books a month, a can’t-miss attraction for thousands of curious tourists annually, and a beloved Ojai institution, with a cozy courtyard that seems almost ideal for author events and readings. But it wasn’t until the arrival — and eventual promotion — of Emma Bailey, who began selling books at Bart’s nine years ago as a teenager, that the legendary bookstore started to host authors for conversations with Ojai on a frequent basis. 50
