A TOAST TO HARD-WORKING NURSES

14th Hour Wine By Nurse Blake

14TH HOUR WINE IS MY NEW PROJECT that was born out of a simple yet brilliant idea. My grandma, or as we call her, Nan, is quite the wine enthusiast. One night, I was hanging out at her house, enjoying some wine with her, and she mentioned how great it would be to have wine meant for nurses. I loved the idea so much that I hit the ground running to search for the perfect company to partner with.

I came across Nocking Point Wines from Walla Walla, Washington, and contacted them about my idea. They believed in it so much that we started working together right away. We put together different combinations and started sampling them to create the perfect blends.

My goal for 14th Hour Wine is for nurses to be able to enjoy a glass of wine with themselves or friends to celebrate the hard work they do.

The name of the wine is one of those things that came to me in the shower. That’s where most of my creative work happens. It must be the hot water that pumps all my blood in the right direction to get me thinking! I decided to call it 14th Hour Wine because many nurses work 12 hours, and when they finally get home and settled, it’s the 14th hour. This is when nurses get to relax and reflect on their day. I want nurses to have something to sip on and enjoy while they can finally put their feet up.

The Walla Walla Valley has been named the #1 wine-making region by USA Today for three years in a row. The soil, climate, and elevation make the area ideal for producing the perfect wine. Once you taste the smoothness of 14th Hour Wine, you’ll understand why Walla Walla has been ranked #1.

Collaborating with Nocking Point Wines has been a wonderful experience. They produce, bottle, and sell the pinot grigio and rosé that 14th Hour Wine offers. The wine can only be purchased within the U.S. for now.

The 100% pinot grigio blend is light and refreshing with notes of pear, white peach, and guava. The rosé is a blend of 2020 Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre with delicate floral aromas and a touch of fruity, strawberry notes. The wines are smooth, light, and refreshing, with a perfect balance of flavors.

I want the 14th Hour to be YOUR hour!

I introduced 14th Hour to the guests on the 2023 NurseCon at Sea cruise to the Bahamas during a special wine-tasting event. It was a hit! Hundreds of guests showed up to sample the products and snap a pic with me. It was so much fun.

My goal for 14th Hour Wine is for nurses to be able to enjoy a glass of wine with themselves or friends to celebrate the hard work they do. I want the 14th Hour to be YOUR hour! It’s your time to sit back, relax, and reflect on your day. Nurses spend so much of their time and energy caring for others that sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. So please, grab a glass of wine and enjoy!

Love, Nurse Blake
