legislative relations program; USPS automation and other technological changes; financial planning, especially at the Local level; and membership recruitment. The most recent meeting of the Committee took place during July 2017. As always, in addition to the general agenda that always frames the Committee’s deliberations, what the Committee also emphasizes is determined by current events. Moreover, because the Committee’s meetings have been reduced to one per year, the members of the Committee made special efforts to focus their efforts on the most pressing issues that threaten the strength and effectiveness of the Union over the next few years. The Committee started its discussions with a detailed, financial report from National Secretary-Treasurer Dwyer.
