BMCC News Pirate track star breaks RHS record and takes first in State track meet
The academic year at Blue Mountain Community College will come to a close on June 16 and the next year will commence on July 3. Another successful year in the books. The college will celebrate commencement on Wednesday, June 14 at the Pendleton Convention Center and a number of local students will mark a milestone in their lives. It is always an uplifting and joyous affair.
BMCC will transition to summer hours starting June 20 (closed June 19 for Juneteenth) which are Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm, and closed on Friday. The college also will be closed on July 4 for Independence Day.

Summer Term begins July 3 and students can register for classes right up to that time. Registration is also open for Fall Term and students are encouraged to register as soon as possible for best class selection. New students can take placement tests and meet with a navigator at the Boardman, Hermiston or Pendleton locations by appointment. Call us at 541-481-2099 for more information.

A Mobile Elevated Work Platform and Fall Protection class has been scheduled for June 16 on the Pendleton campus. The course is a workplace safety class designed for anyone working more than four feet off the ground. Call for more information at 541-481-2099.
Tyrese Boyd of Riverside competed at the OSAA State Track & Field Championships at Haward Field on Friday, May 26, 2023, in Eugene. Boyd won the javelin with a record breaking 185 feet, 11 inches. This set a new record at Riverside and also won him a 1st place medal in the 3A boys javelin. Boyd also competed in the high jump and took 3rd place with a personal record of 1.83m.


He also participated in high school football and wrestling at Riverside.
After high school Boyd wants to pursue a career in real estate. Congratulations Tyrese!
