FABIO MESA Colombia Born in 1970, Medellin, Colombia. Received an education from Escuela de Bellas Artes Medellín, Colombia in 1991 and later at the Taller de Artes de Medellín. Select exhibitions include an exhibition at the Galería Palacio de la Cultura Medellín, Colombia in 2007 and was recently selected to participate in the Emerging Artists from Mexico and Latin America at the New York Academy of Arts in 2007. FLAVIA D’ ASCOLI Venezuela Born in Venezuela, she began studying painting from 197174 and obtained an honorific mention with her pastel work in 1973. Her education (1996-2008) includes: etching and printmaking at the Instituto d’Arte Lorenzo di’ Medici, Italy and collage at Coral Springs Museum of Art, USA. She has participated in exhibitions such as, Galeria Blasini and Biennales Iternacionales Miniaturas Graficas, Caracas. Flavia received honorific mention in 2002, in Guatemala during 2008, and in the Museum of New Plymouth, New Zeland in 2002 and 2006. In 2003, she had an individual exhibition, Vientos de Libertad, in Caracas. For Flavia: “Art is the expectation that lead into freedom of expression”. FRANCES SNIFFEN USA Frances Sniffen’s work is mixed media, abstract, intuitive, and includes non-traditional processes that express metaphors which parallel life experiences. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, she earned her BFA at the Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. Her further studies include the Art Students League of New York and the University of Maryland at College Park. She is a juried member of the National Association of Women Artists, in New York. Exhibitions include: Sculpture Now 2008 at the Washington Sculptors Group, The Drawing Center 2007 Auction in New York, and WPA/C Auction 2007 in Washington D.C. FRANK COLSON USA Sarasota artist and sculptor Frank Colson, received his BFA from Scripps College, California and an M.S. Degree from Syracuse University, in New York. Selected exhibitions include the City Art Gallery, Stockholm, Sweden, Galleria D’Arte II Millennio at Venice, Italy, and the Frank Colson Retrospective Museum Exhibition at the Ringling College of Florida. Colson has exhibited internationally in places such as Tokyo, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Florida. Selected commissions and public art include: the Canas Project for the National Memorial,Costa Rica, the Yalalag Project, Mexico, and more recently in Miami-Dade Art in Public Places. GAZALA USA Gazala lives and resides in New York City. An emerging artist, she has shown works in New York, London, Bangalore, and Bombay. She has participated in major art fairs such as London’s Form Olympia, and group exhibitions at the Santa Monica Art Festival and the New Art Center in New York.
Gazala shows versatility in her works with her figurative, landscape, and abstract paintings. Her restless mind and equally restless imagination probe and search for the hidden connections between time, people, and the very substance of existence. HE SI’EN China Born in Zigong, China she studied at The Engraving Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and at the Engraving Department at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Now living in Beijing, her exhibitions include: Tokyo-Tama International Woodcut Painting Exhibition; Asian Youth Designer Contest, 2007’s China Pingyao International Photography Festival; China Design Now in London; 2008’s Beijing International Art Biennale; We Are In Here, Beijing; 2008’s China Pingyao International Photography Festival. Her paintings reside in the collections of: The Exhibition Hall of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Shanghai Art Museum, Sichuan Art Museum, Tokyo Tama University, Jiangsu Art Museum, Beijing International Art Biennale Office. HE ZHANG China Chinese-Canadian artist based in Montreal, he specializes in oil painting at the LuXun institute of Art. His vigorous abstractions range from austere studies in movement and energy to exuberant explosions of color that express the ever-changing landscape of his emotions. Each painting is a journey of selfdiscovery, continual exploration, and personal transformation. He Zhang has participated in many prestigious exhibitions, including solo and collective shows at the LuXun Art Institute in China, the Toronto International Art Fair, Odon Wagner Contemporary in Toronto, and Galerie d’Ete in Montreal, Canada. IRENE NEAL USA Neal studied at the Wilson College in Pennsylvania and recivied a BA in 1958. She also studied at the School of Visual Arts in Brazil from 1976-77, the Escola de Belas Artes, in Brazil during 1978, and at Memphis State University from 1979-80. Her exhibitions include her solo exhibition at the Huitai Art Centre, China in 2008, Art Basel Miami Beach, FL in 2007 and the 69th Regiment Armory Show, New York in 2000. She states: “I paint with all that I am… that somehow the best of my strengths will become visible to those who stand in front of my art… so they, too, can feel in their soul, the beauty and greatness of this life!” JOYCE HARRIS MAYER USA Mayer was born in New York City in 1935 and was working professionally as an artist by the age of 17. In 1953, she was awarded the New York City Art League Medal, where numerous awards followed. Mayer had her first professional exhibition in New York City ina gallery in Greenwich Village in 1960.
