General Information & Sale Notes

LOCATION: The sale will be held at Welshpool Livestock Market, Buttington, Welshpool. SY21 8SR.

Timetable of Events:-

CONDITIONS OF SALE: Held subject to the rules and regulations of the Livestock Auctioneers Association General Conditions of Sale.

VETERINARY INSPECTION: For buyers convenience, a Veterinary Inspection will be carried out on all animals entered for the sale. The Veterinary Officer will examine for general health and genetic defects particularly teeth, eyes, testicles and warts. Any animal found with a genetic fault, disease or disorder will be REJECTED.

All cattle entered for the Sale will have their identification marks examined. Any marks found to have faulty, incorrect or illegible marks will be REJECTED from the Sale, Vendors are therefore urged in their own interest to examine the ear tags of sale cattle before the animal(s) leave the farm, so that faulty marks can be rectified in accordance with the required Society procedures.

All Bulls entered for the Sale, must be adequately trained to lead by halter and must be paraded for inspection unless exempted by the Stewards. Evidence of faults of temperament, vices, etc, may lead to disqualification.

METHOD OF SALE: All cattle will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers.

COMMISSIONS: The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions.

INSURANCE: A representative of the Auctioneers Insurance Brokers, will be present at the sale and will be pleased to quote Purchasers for transit and other risks.

REGISTRATIONS: All stock in the Sale are registered with the British Limousin Cattle Society, Tel. 02476 696500).

PEDIGREE TRANSFERS: Any purchaser who is a member of the British Limousin Cattle Society (BLCS) must return the pedigree certificate to the BLCS office and request a transfer of ownership. All transfer fees will be paid by the vendor

SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK: Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official ‘Pass Slip’, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement.

RESERVE PRICES: Vendors shall have the right to refuse to accept the final bid for their animals. The auctioneers reserve the right to charge half commission on the amount of the final bid in the case of animals which fail to reach the Vendors reserve price.

All pedigree animals will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and a commission of 5% will be charged by the Auctioneers on all sales. No animal may be sold privately before being passed through the auction ring and FULL COMMISSION will be charged on the sale of any animal sold by private treaty after the auction. All such transactions MUST BE PASSED THROUGH THE AUCTIONEERS OFFICE.
