Nicholas Michael Hallahan
Nicholas Michael Hallahan, known to most as Nick Hallahan, has devoted much of his life to the water and the art of boating. Growing up in Missouri near the Lake of the Ozarks, he learned early what it means to respect the water, maintain machinery, and take full responsibility for every vessel he operates. What began as weekend outings gradually became a lifelong career grounded in discipline, consistency, and experience. He is a USGS 200-ton Captain with over 15 years of experience operating and maintaining yachts throughout the Gulf Coast, East Coast, and Caribbean. His lifelong connection to boating shaped both his personal values and professional goals. When Nick Hallahan earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Troy University, he knew his career would be tied to the sea. After completing his studies, he moved to Florida and accepted every opportunity to gain hands-on experience, whether it involved the engine room, navigation, or dock work. Those years of practical learning became the foundation of his success. He began his maritime career as a deckhand and later worked as a mate on vessels ranging from 40 to over 100 feet. With persistence and continued education, he earned his OUPV (six-pack) license, then his 200 Ton Master’s license, STCW95 Basic Training, Maritime Security Awareness, and several engineering certifications. His experience includes time aboard yachts such as Better Boat, Blue Eyed Girls, Happy Hour, LUMAR, and Love Life, operating vessels up to 143 feet. He is as skilled in technical maintenance as he is in navigation, capable of handling oil changes, system repairs, and overseeing major refits with precision and care. His leadership style reflects structure, accountability, and clear communication, earning the trust of both crew and owners. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys boating, snorkeling, fishing, off-roading, and volunteering with the Shy Wolf Sanctuary, balancing work and life.
