Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri Rūnanga Ngā mate
The Manihera whānau wish to thank everyone who paid their respects during the tangi. They especially want to thank Tuahiwi Marae for allowing them to be together to rein in the next generation – maunga aroha.
It is with great sadness that the Manihera whānau farewelled their beloved tāua, Myra Manihera, who was affectionately known as Koko Mum. This great women exemplified aroha and manaakitanga by opening up her home and heart and caring for her 13 children, many mokopuna and countless others.
Kua haro atu tō wairua ki te taupāpātanga o Tawhiti. Kua topa atu ki Te Hononga i Wairua. Ko tātou āu waihotanga e tangi atu nei, kia maumahara.
She was laid to rest on Tuesday, 16 December, next to her husband, Tip Manihera aka Tipi-Lou, Uncle Tip and Koko Dad, at Te Urutī (Tuahiwi Urupā). She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and her great-great-grandchild, Tahu Pōtiki.

To the Manihera whānau
On behalf of the aunties of Tuahiwi Marae who work in the kāuta, I would like to commend the children, in-laws and moko of Myra, who worked wonderfully in the kitchen and produced kai rangatira served with mana. They kept our whare spotlessly clean during the tangi. I would also like to mention the great job that all the pakeke are doing in raising their well-behaved tamariki. Nā Hoana Burgman.

He taonga te mokopuna. Another handsome mokopuna for the Phillips, Kereru and Wainohu whānau. Luca Ngakai Raymond Wainohu was born on Friday 23 January, a baby brother for Taena (Critter) that he absolutely adores. Congratulations to proud parents Maiauna and Blane. Another mokopuna for Nani Liz and Papa Shaun to spoil rotten.

Tiaki Burgman, moko of Joan and John Burgman has made his whānau very proud after an excellent year at Kaiapoi North School.
encouraging others; and a koru from Rotary Club of Belfast for Kaiapoi North School leadership through performing arts.
He was awarded trophies for excellence in instrumental performance, kapa haka leadership and encouragement to others and for academic excellence. He also received a special staff trophy for language, cups for athletics and was named the most dedicated player for the Kaiapoi Under 13 rugby team. His parents, Joshua and Miriama, and his tāua are pleased with his achievements and wish him all the best for high school this coming year. The korowai that he is wearing is also one of the taonga that he won. Some of his other awards included the Kaiapoi North School PTA performing arts trophy for excellence in instrumental performance; pounamu and Te Taonga o Kaiapoi Tokerau mō te tumuaki kapa haka leadership trophy; a carving for his kapa haka; Te Whata–Cooke award Tū Māia for stepping up and
