Trending: From Prints For Bridesmaids To By Eliza Hallabeck

Some of Newtown’s fashion experts recently offered examples of trends for wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, rehearsal dinner dresses, and mother of the bride and groom dresses. Sequins and lace, bridal consultant and co-manager at Julie Allen Bridals Lauren Morehouse said, are two trends for wedding dresses this year. A-line and ballgown silhouettes, sweetheart necklines, and beaded belts were just some of the notable trends among dresses that Ms Morehouse said represent the trends of this year when asked to share examples. Lace of many variations — shiny, crochet, beaded, and floral — were noted as trends

for bridal gowns by Ms Morehouse, who also chose dresses with detailed bead work and embroidery, like an Allure Couture wedding gown, as an example of this year’s wedding dress trends. Lace was also a trend for rehearsal dresses, bridal shower dresses, and mother of the bride or groom dresses, Ms Morehouse noted while finding examples among the offerings at Julie Allen Bridals. For bridesmaids dresses, Ms Morehouse said print dresses have been a hit, with large or small floral patterns, like an Allure Bridals gown that has a sweetheart neckline and rouched bodice. Floral patterns, Ms Morehouse said, also make dresses appropriate for a number of

occasions, from bridesmaids to bridal shower dresses to wearing the dress as a guest to a wedding. Ms Morehouse referred to one dress, a floorlength gown by Bari Jay, as “the Pinterest dress,” because she said it perfectly portrays so many postings by Pinterest users online. Ms Morehouse noted the dress’s rose gold color, all-over sequins, and flattering cut make it ideal for brides, bridesmaids, and soon-to-be brides attending rehearsal events. For flower girls’ dresses, Ms Morehouse noted bridesmaids dresses that come in smaller versions for the younger girls, dresses that match the bridesmaids dresses in color but are different styles, and one Rosebud dress with a
