Gold medal for Habito at 2017 innovation competition

Saint-Gobain Gyproc’s Habito brand was recently presented with a gold medal at Concours de I’Innovation 2017, an innovation competition held in France.

The competition, which highlights trends and innovations in construction, is the flagship event of the Mondial du Bâtiment, a showcase of exhibitions and trade shows that focus on materials and solutions in the building industry.

Habito plasterboards won gold in the Interior Finishing category for its impact resistance, acoustic performance, and load bearing and fixing capability.

“In South African, we typically think about plasterboard going hand-in-hand with office partitions,” says Heidi Oliver, product manager at Saint-Gobain Gyproc, “but the material can do so much more.”

She goes on to explain that Habito plasterboard has the strength of bricks along with all benefits of drywall such as flexibility, as well as thermal and acoustic aiding properties.
