DeWalt has announced its 18V XR Brushless Compact drilling and fastening range for 2020 and it is sure to bring a smile to the face of all professional tradesmen.

According to DeWalt, research and user feedback, trade professionals today are seeking lighter, more compact tools but without sacrificing power, runtime or reliability. These studies have resulted in the development of a brand-new lineup of smaller DeWalt cordless tools that fulfil the size and weight requirements but also deliver on jobsite performance. DeWalt has revealed the 18V XR DCD708 Drill Driver, DCF809 Impact Driver with Brushless technology, and the DCD709 Hammer Drill Driver, amongst a new line up of Ultra Compact power tools.

Each model features an efficient brushless motor combined with 18V XR battery technology to provide users with highly durable, reliable and powerful tools they can depend on – day in, day out. Ideal for countless professional trades including plumbers, HVAC installers, carpenters, fabrication shop specialists and general contractors, this versatile range delivers the bestin-class performance and quality these users have come to expect from DeWalt.

Designed for easy access within tight spaces such as between floor joists or stud wall frames, these new compact units offer an exceptional power to size/weight ratio, and are perfectly balanced and ergonomic in form factor, enhancing comfort and reducing the risk of fatigue in use. A strong belt hook keeps the tool close at hand and ensures further flexibility and convenience.

Despite their smaller size and shorter length, there is no compromise in torque, runtime and durability with this new line-up. Each unit is guaranteed tough for job site use.

DeWalt DCD708 Drill Driver / DCD709 Hammer Drill Driver

With a two-speed all-metal transmission (0-450and 0-1650rpm), DeWalt has engineered these products to pack enough power and torque (up to65Nm) to tackle an enormous variety of demanding drilling and driving applications. Both drills incorporate a bright LED on the foot of the tool for enhanced visibility of the work piece. For masonry and brickwork applications, the DCD709 percussion hammer incorporates an a robust 13mm metal chuck and delivers 28 050bpm. These multi purpose tools offer a drilling capacity of 30mm in wood, 13mm in metal, and 13mm in concrete(DCD709 only).

DeWalt DCF809

For professionals undertaking challenging fastening and removal applications, with the development of the DCF809, DeWalt has created it slightest and most compact 18V impact driver ever at just 130mm in length and 1.5kg in weight. Easy to carry and use, the DCF809 is ideal for repetitive applications that require powerful torque, but where users also benefit from a shorter length tool for better clearance between joints. The DeWalt-built, high quality Brushless motor and tuned impact mechanism deliver 190Nm torque combined with outstanding runtime, while a no- load speed of 0-2800rpm and 0-3200 impacts per minute ensure superior performance. A ring of three LEDs has been integrated around the convenient quick release ¼ inch- or 6mm bit holder, affording enhanced illumination of the working area.

DCF809 Impact Driver

The DCD708, DCD709 and DCF809 are delivered with two 18V XR batteries, a charger and a rugged DeWalt TSTAK compatible storage case.

The suggested retail prices are DeWalt, DCD708 (R3 499), DCD709 (R4 699) and DCF809 (R4 469) incl VAT and they will be available from CIB Partners from June 2020.
