1954 Michael Frankel is approaching 90 but is still in reasonably good shape and travels to Italy a couple of times a year. He also still travels to the UK every year for 10 days of golf. He would love to know: Who from the Class of 1954 is still with us?
1961 Peter Papademetriou enjoyed 44 years as a Professor of Architecture and Design at Rice University and New Jersey Institute of Technology, retiring as Emeritus Professor. Rather than “retired,” though, he feels “reinvented.” Other Interests include automotive racing and (of course) the history of architecture. Ditto for Long Island (the birthplace of racing in America). While he drove a ‘49 Buick at NA, he later advanced to a ‘56 T-Bird and ‘66 Shelby Mustang GT350.
1964 Retired to Taos, New Mexico, from a medical career, Dr. Richard L. Rubin is a volunteer steward with the United States Forest Service and the nearby historic 1912 home of esteemed conservationist Aldo Leopold. With gratitude for NA’s guidance and opportunities to develop as a writer, he has published four books in recent years on New Mexico culture and Leopold ecology. Richard values the motto “Towards a widening sphere of usefulness” — the namesake of Suzanne Geissler’s book on the history of NA.

Artie Williams has joined Lila Sciences as Director of Business and Development. Lila Sciences is the pioneer in scientific superintelligence, using artificial intelligence (AI) to shorten the scientific process for work in life sciences, basic chemicals, and material sciences. He is a part-time figure model and recently completed his 750th gig! In August 2025, Brian drove cross-country from Connecticut to attend Burning Man in Nevada’s Black Rock desert for the 11th time, bringing and demoing his homemade solar energy system. While out there, he made a side trip up to Oregon to visit classmate Max Magliaro ‘80 and his family. Brian also enjoys spending time in his recording studio, playing with his grandson, and naturism. He will soon be playing bass in a ZZ Top tribute band. Brian lives with his wife, son, daughter-in-law and three furry feline anarchists. (See photo on page 56)
1986 Daniel Case attended Wikimania, the 2025 Wikimedia community convention in Nairobi, Kenya. “I am very fortunate to be able to travel like this, I know.” After the conference, he took time to tour the country, visiting a coffee plantation, hiking on the
slopes of Mount Kenya, and going on safari for a week and a half. “We went to several of the country’s national parks and reserves — Samburu, Aberdare, Lake Nakuru and the Maasai Mara, where we even got to go about 20 feet into Tanzania and Serengeti National Park at one point,” he writes. “Within three days we had our Big Five, among many other animals we were able to see and photograph. We did a boat safari on Lake Naivasha and the ever-popular balloon safari over the Mara.” Afterwards, he also visited the Mara Elephant Project, which he and his wife contribute to.
