Closing Trafalgar St: There are situations when it is clear that closing a street to motor traffic has clear benefits and Church St may be a good example. However, there are others where this is not so and closing Trafalgar St at the Church Steps is one of them. For a start, it effectively denies people the convenience of a "drop off " at adjacent cafés and social centres but, more importantly, it denies motorists a useful Trafalgar St entry and exit. Inevitably this will force more traffic into Hardy St and increase congestion in it, particularly at the Trafalgar St intersection. Don't do it! Yours faithfully, Bruce Moon.
