SENIOR CRICKET

SENIOR CRICKET IS THRIVING AT RCC. OVER THE LAST DECADE THERE HAVE BEEN OVER FIVE PROMOTIONS FOR DIFFERENT SENIOR SIDES AND MULTIPLE LEAGUE AND CUP WINS.

In 2022, we’re looking to step this up again and key goals include, running four weekend teams every week, launching a 2nd midweek side and creating a better pathway for youth players into the senior teams.

The early indications are that as we come out of COVID availability will be good, and the strength of the youth system over the last ten years means that we have the positive challenge of creating opportunities for everyone, to get as much cricket as possible.

Our biggest step forward on the senior section this year, comes in the introduction of a coaching team to work with the senior sides. Wes Landsdale will be heading this up in his role as Director of Cricket, supported by Nick Tester, Michael Powell and ex-South African test cricketer Peter Kirsten. So we’ve got a truly top-class coaching setup to support senior players and young players coming into the senior sides.

There’ll be opportunities to focus on specific skills and develop your game, so you can get as much enjoyment from the game as possible.

As we continue to grow and look to expand our senior offering even further into 2022 with the launch of the 4th team, there are exciting times ahead for the club!
