KEDT Food & Wine Classic

NEC Co-op Energy was proud to be a sponsor at the 34th KEDT Food & Wine Classic benefitting fundraiser in Corpus Christi, TX. At this event presented by H-E-B, the community gathered for a good cause, and of course, savory food paired with a wide selection of wine from local restaurants.

Cooperative Principle 7: Concern for Community

Many of us local to Corpus Christi remember turning on the television to either watch or show our kids programs on KEDT’s PBS kids affiliate, like Sesame Street. Money from this event is used to keep this program on the air which is crucial in providing educational programming for children in the area. Aside from the benefit fundraiser, KEDT also uses this event to meet their viewers and listeners and speak about what more they can offer their audience.

Albert & Annalisa, who work for NEC Co-op Energy, attended the event to distribute sponsored corkscrews to patrons at the benefit as well as other employees for support. Events we sponsor in the communities we serve are a way for us to give back and meet our members, or potential members, face-to-face. The Food & Wine Classic brings locals together for a chance to give back.
