NDCL gets “rolling” for Ukranian relief efforts

This past spring, NDCL found a creative way to help relief efforts for our friends suffering in Ukraine. Students, faculty members, and volunteers made and sold khrustyky, a sweet dough treat also known as angel wings, over the course of several days in March.

In addition, over 400 dozen pierogi orders were sourced from the local Ukranian community and members of the NDCL community gave above and beyond the cost as a donation to support the efforts. After the all-school Mass celebrating the Feast of the Annunciation, students experienced Ukranian music throughout the day and joined in prayer and spirit for the people of Ukraine.

The proceeds from khrustyky and pierogi sales, plus added contributions from members of the NDCL community totaled over $22,000 that was directed to the Ukranian Eparchy of Parma who will disburse the funds to churches in Ukraine and Poland.
