Influences in her formative years have been diverse both in terms of teachers and environments, from a farm in India, boarding school and then study and work in Italy. She studied basic art as an important part of growing up in Panchgani, she first trained in Fashion Design at NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) Gandhinagar and then a Masters in Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni, Milano. During her Master's she worked with various fashion forecasting companies and Fashion Houses in Milan. She has experience in working with Italian designer Elio Fiorucci for women’s wear & kids wear for his Milan based label Love Therapy Srl. She has designed for brands like Oviesse Srl. as well as for Pitti Imagine in Florence. Nandita has always believed in holistic design and growth, she has been the costume designer for Indo- German production- DUST that premiered at the Berlinale (Berlin) apart from TV commercials in Mumbai.
