composing, reading about music, understanding the history of music and its association with historical and current trends, and knowing what to listen for in music. Most importantly, the student can come away understanding that music offers all those qualities in addition to the enjoyment in listening casually or with great attention. Earlier in the programme, the students of Music presented a welcome song, Invocation by asst prof. Watichila Imchen, while the principal Imsuinla Imti, gave the welcome address Symphony Academy of Music director Mele Pucho and Life Pro director Thejakielie Zuyie equipped the Krosians with the importance of Music and sound engineering respectively. n 1964, Cilla Black released “It’s For You,” a song Paul McCartney and John Lennon wrote for her, which she took to No. 7 on the charts. Black passed away last year and while her family was going through her belongings they found the original demo which reportedly features the onlyknown version of McCartney on vocals. The demo was found stuffed in a brown paper envelope, which had Black’s name and the song title handwritten on it, reported NME. Black’s family decided to showcase the demo to The Beatles Shop in Liverpool, England as part of a collection of her 21 demos. Immediately, the store manager knew it was something special. “As soon as I heard ‘It’s For You’, I thought: ‘Oh God, that’s not Cilla Black, it’s Paul McCartney,’” Stephen Bailey told the Liverpool Echo. “I was shaking with excitement and speechless. Apart from a few crackles that you get with acetates, the quality is fine. It’s a wonderful recording.”

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Rejoinder to "AASU, KU (Aboi Unit) appeal on Road Diversion" which appeared in Nagaland Post on the 8th July 2016.

A joint meeting of Village Chairmen and Hd. GBs from Longching Village, Longching Town, Mohung Changnyu, Mohung Changai, Sowa Changnyu, was held on 20th July 2016 at Longching during which the above subject was seriously deliberated. Consequent to this, the signatories strongly resolved to respond to the concerned organizations so as to lay bare the fact of the matter. NH-702 was proposed and duly approved by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, subsequent statement declared by state Minister of Roads, Mechanical Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation on 19th July 2014, stating that NH-702 will commence from NH-2 Changtongya, connecting Longleng, Longching, Mon, Lapa, Tizit in Nagaland and terminate at its junction with new NH-215 Sapekhati in Assam. The claim made by AASU, KU (Aboi Unit) in your daily dated the 8th July 2016, of road diversion is a distorted agenda. It is questionable as to where the issue of “diversion” arises when the approved order of the Union Ministry stands clear of any doubts. In fact, their demand to construct the Highway from Phumnyu-YongamAopao Junction is in itself a direct by-pass/diversion of the order and will eventually leave out transit points of connection the project includes. So where is the road diverted? It will only result in wastage of resources in the wild forest where no village/people exists. Let us be rational to see the basic in-depths of the project rather than trying to alter its basic criteria on which the project should be carried out. Further, the issue of shortening the distance of Highway to cut cost is a baseless opinion. The Government will never include anything in its Plan without necessary funds for the same. One must understand that the core purpose of constructing Highways is projected towards ensuring rural connectivity to urban areas, to pool in developments and to secure better transportation and communication. The aim of the government in adopting such high cost project should be logically accepted that; longer the distance it covers, the bigger socio-economic developments. It is noteworthy that highways form the economic backbone of the society and have often facilitated or accelerated development mileage along their routes. So, as per the Ministry’s order, the particular Highway starting from Changtongya, should be stretched across Longleng, Sowa Changle, Sowa Changnyu, Longching Village, Longching Town, Mohung Changnyu, Mohung Changai, Aopao,Aboi and to Mon and not as demanded by the said bodies. In the light of the above points and in the interests of public welfare, the concerned organizations have been requested to soundly understand and consider opinions on such developmental projects that come as boon which we all agree to. It is appealed that we cannot afford to lose government's welfare initiatives on account of ideological differences, particularly projects such as this which is seemingly pregnant with voluminous benefits for all in the long run. Further, the undersigned signatories unanimously declared in the said meeting to render unconditional cooperation and thus urge the government to go ahead with the implementation of the project as approved without further delay.

The Gorkha Singhadevi Mandir Committee, Kohima, would like to thank the following organisations for the very successful 8-day SHRIMAD BHAGAVAD KATHA GYAN YAGYA which was held at GORKHA SINGHADEVI MANDIR, CHANDMARI, KOHIMA, from the 9th – 16th July, 2016. 1.
