here comes a time in most people’s lives when they feel motivated, inspired, or even pressured to choose a career path. It’s safe to say the decision is often made in one’s early 20s. “I really didn’t know my life’s path until my mid-40s,” Lori Williams confessed. What’s more, at the age of 54, she launched her own business! Lori is owner and founder of Lori Williams – Senior Services, LLC, a senior referral service, and so much more. “The main focus of my business is senior living placement – a completely free advisement service to seniors and their families,” Lori explained. “Finding senior housing for yourself or a loved one can be such a confusing, frustrating, and time-consuming process.” Matching the special needs and quality of life that seniors require with their housing deserves more than a Google search. “I collaborate with senior communities, realtors, and movers across the Metroplex to ease the transition into senior living. It’s a very stressful time when seniors give up their homes and move during that stage in life,” Lori emphasized. How did this compassion for the senior community begin?

It all started with Lori’s grandmother being diagnosed with dementia. “I watched as my mom and her sister struggled with what to do for their mom, and their search for resources to assist her,” Lori reflected. “I learned right along with them what their options were.” “My grandmother lived to 101, and when she passed away, I was holding her hand,” Lori shared, her voice filled with emotion. A graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in marketing, Lori now felt drawn to working with seniors. “I was inspired by the wonderful people I met throughout my grandmother’s journey, she affirmed. The ensuing years found Lori fulfilled and realizing her purpose. While employed for an independent assisted

living facility, “I knew that working with seniors was what I was meant to do,” Lori recounted. It had become her passion. Before launching her own business, Lori also gained beneficial experience working five years for a national senior referral service. “Then I decided it was time to go out on my own.” In March of 2018, after more than a decade of working in the senior industry, Lori Williams – Senior Services became a reality,” Lori stated with pride. Her abilities range from being a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), to hosting a weekly Podcast, Aging in Style with Lori Williams, that aired its 50th episode on July 30. “Don’t let your age prohibit you from following your path, chasing your dreams, and finding your purpose,” Lori advised. She feels very blessed to be working with seniors. “I say a little prayer for each of them every day.”
