indy and Glenn’s love story began in Houston as Pharmacy students during a gala party hosted by the African Pharmacy Students Association. Invited to be part of the gala’s fashion show, they were paired together, dancing down the runway and into each other’s hearts while wearing the latest in Nigerian attire. They were so natural together that audience members assumed they were a couple, already picking up on the magnetism between them. Engaged in great conversation they were exchanging numbers by the end of the night. Glenn called Cindy the very next day and they’ve “literally talked every day since.” It wouldn’t be long before Glenn began to realize that Cindy was “the one” and so planned their perfect proposal. Graduating with her doctorate of pharmacy in May 2016, Cindy’s family planned a party to celebrate the achievement, providing Glenn with the ideal moment. With over three hundred people in attendance Cindy was completely caught off guard when in front of everyone Glenn asked her to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife – an eruption of cheers f illing the venue. For Cindy, she knew Glenn was “the one” within the f irst few months of their relationship. Even though they lived in different cities they spoke everyday and their chemistry was instantaneous. In Cindy’s words,
SUMMER.2018
“it got to the point where I couldn’t see myself not talking to him every day…my feelings were growing deep and I could see him being a husband and a father to my children one day…I knew I was falling in love at that moment…” Their beautiful destination wedding took place in tropical Cancun, Mexico, on a resort terrace overlooking the beach. Cindy was gorgeous in a custom Israeli gown with sparkly tulle, twelve foot train, and lace & pearl detailing. Best Memories: My favorite memory was walking down the aisle with my dad to “Here and Now” by Luther Vandross, which really set the mood. It was my dad’s f irst time escorting his daughter down the aisle and it was also Father’s Day so it was even more special. It was an emotional moment for me and the tears were unstoppable. When I locked eyes with my handsome husband, my heart was full. Advice for Engaged Couples: Do not stress about the small things because everything ends up working out at the end! It is YOUR day so be sure to enjoy it. It'll be here before you know it!
