80’s

Tony Avila ’83 recently ran the San Francisco Marathon in under four hours. He raised $67,615.00 for the Janet Pessagno Memorial Scholarship Fund, benefiting Moreau Catholic High School students. Tony is currently training for the Escape from Alcatraz Race. Leslie (Paul) Parente ’83 attended UC Davis where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. She later received her Master’s degree in Management from California State University Hayward before beginning her career at Robert Half International. Recently, Leslie and her husband celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Leslie remains best friends with fellow Moreau graduate Julie (Radecke) Murphy ’83. Todd Perras ’83 and his wife are Supervising Probation Officers with the San Mateo County Probation Department. They have two beautiful daughters, Carmen, Moreau Class of 2028 and Athena, Moreau Class of 2030. They currently live in the East Bay.

Gail Bautista ’90 has worked for Google since 2004 and is currently a Program Manager within the Corporate Engineering Organization. She has been serving on the Executive Committee of the San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP branch for the past 11 years. Gail has previously worked with the San Jose Sharks and San Jose Earthquakes. In January 2015 Gail will join the Philippine Medical Society of Northern California on a medical mission to the Philippines.

Ritche Corpus ’90 has spent the last 20 years working with various hardware companies in Silicon Valley. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the PC Gaming Alliance and Game Developers of the Philippines. Ritche has been married for 22 years and has 3 children. He volunteers as a coach for youth baseball, basketball and Martial Arts. Melinda Glines ’90 is a family physician specializing in the care of under-served populations. When not at work she is busy with her two children, cats, chickens, and bunny. Albert Vita ’90 and his wife Karin welcomed twins in 2013! After 15 years in the consulting industry, Albert relocated his family to Atlanta, Georgia. Albert was promoted as the Senior Director of Interconnected Retail for Home Depot. Albert and his family are still adjusting to the humidity and Southern cuisine but are enjoying their cross-country adventures. Mike Schabert ’91 graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy. In 2001 he became the first layperson to receive a Master’s Degree from St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, California. Mike later joined Santa Clara High School as a teacher, minister, athletic director and Assistant Principal. In 2008 he was appointed Principal of St. Anthony’s High School in Long Beach, California. Mike and his wife of 16 years, Noemi, reside in Lakewood, California with their two sons, Joshua and Luke.

Sara (Pruneda) Beesley ’04 is excited to be working for the National Audubon Society in Texas. She is the Development Manager for Conservation Science Programs. She just celebrated her one-year anniversary with Audubon and one-year wedding anniversary. She will be completing her Master’s in Nonprofit Management in May 2015 from Our Lady of the Lake University. Sara visits her sister, Maddy Pruneda ‘12, at St. Edward’s University in Austin as often as possible.
