The mission of the nonprofit Monterey Bay Aquarium is to inspire conservation of the ocean. Located adjacent to the ocean in Central California, we provide an exceptional visitor experience through our amazing exhibitions and programs focused on ocean wildlife and habitats in Monterey Bay. We are a leader in science education, providing free education programs to tens of thousands of children, teens, and their teachers each year. Our science, policy, and communications efforts work to conserve Pacific Ocean wildlife and ecosystems, achieve sustainable global fisheries and aquaculture, reduce plastic pollution, and address the impacts of climate change and ocean acidification. Everything we do works in concert to protect the future of our blue planet.
