Summertime is arguably the best time of the year – especially if you’re an 8-year-old who’s finally free from school, homework and endless days spent indoors.
CAMP BODHI
The YMCA loves summertime because they get to spend the whole summer with the children in our community – helping them learn new things, explore new environments and grow their physical, social-emotional and cognitive skills. From unique field trips and educational games to activities that encourage socialemotional learning and more – campers are involved and having fun the whole day. YMCA summer camps are a fun and engaging way for your child to spend their summer. They strive to not only create amazing memories and foster new and lasting friendships, but also to assist in your child’s continued development. Using STEAM and social-emotional learning programs, camp counselors help lead campers through problem-solving, emotion management and new social interactions that prepare them for the upcoming school year. Camp and its programs are curated to best fit the needs of the campers’ specific age groups. The Gallatin Valley YMCA summer camp programs ensure that kids can progress from grades kindergarten through seventh and continue to learn new things and have various adventures through the years. Camper favorites include Snapology – an engaging STEAM activity with motorized and robotic coding projects using LEGO bricks; team building games (which challenge campers to work together as a team), and educational field trips, which take campers to places like local farms, the Museum of the Rockies, the Montana Science Center and more.

In addition to making camp a place where kids can be free to express themselves and grow both educationally and as individuals, the YMCA also strives to make camp attainable for every child, regardless of ability, background or economic status. They never turn anyone away for inability to pay. That is why the Gallatin Valley YMCA gives out several scholarships every year to children who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend camp. Each summer YMCA camps welcome hundreds of unique campers to experience summer fun at its best. Making new friends, learning new skills and having new adventures are just some of the wonderful things your child will experience at summer camp.
