Hotel Construction Pipeline Europe The UK remains the leading hotel development market in Europe, with 399 projects (56,472 rooms) currently listed in the THP database. Much of this pipeline is concentrated in the capital, where the luxury hotel boom shows no sign of abating. Among the headline openings due later this year are Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch and St Regis London, while Mandarin Oriental is set to plant its third flag in the capital in 2028. Across mainland Europe, Germany continues to attract developers and operators, with Berlin and Hamburg driving activity. Landmark projects in the pipeline, such as Estrel Tower Berlin – the tallest hotel in Germany – and Hilton Elbtower Hamburg, indicate sustained confidence in large-scale mixed-use developments, reflecting both cities’ status as business and leisure hubs. Further east, Turkey is emerging as a key growth market with 107 projects in the pipeline. While Istanbul accounts for nearly a quarter of the country’s forthcoming projects, Bodrum is establishing itself as a luxury resort destination with new properties from St Regis, Shangri-La and Bvlgari Hotels & Resorts set to strengthen its international appeal.
