I have found that preparing the altar a few days before the actual solstice is an effective way to capture and project the energy created through anticipation. The color of the two candles placed on the altar can correspond to what you would like to focus more on: white symbolizes the sun’s strength and radiance, and maroon represents the astrological correspondence of Cancer in the Queen color scale. If you’d like, adorn the altar with other appro¬priate items as well such as decorations depicting the sun or lotus flowers. On the Summer Solstice, light the candles and express your intention of aligning yourself with the radiance a n d l i g h t o f t h e S u n o r y o u r H o l y G u a r d i a n A n g e l .
