The Many Makers of Moda That diversity has always been one of the things that makes Moda special. Our designers find inspiration everywhere. For some, it begins with an antique quilt, a faded textile, or a treasured piece of the past. Others are influenced by gardens, travel, fashion, art, family, architecture, or the colors and patterns they notice in everyday life. Some naturally gravitate toward soft florals and timeworn palettes, while others reach for saturated color, bold geometrics, whimsical illustrations, or clean modern designs. There is something pretty wonderful about seeing the Moda family gathered together. For years, our catalog covers have traditionally celebrated “a cover girl/designer” sharing one designer at a time. This season, we decided to do something a little different. With so many wonderful new collections arriving at once, choosing just one face—and one creative point of view—simply didn’t tell the whole story. So, for this catalog, we’re opening the door a little wider and celebrating the many makers of Moda on the cover.

Put them all together, and you have a pretty remarkable creative neighborhood. While their individual styles may be very different, our designers share a commitment to creating fabric that inspires. And behind every collection is Moda’s continued dedication to the quality, design, and color our customers have trusted for generations. We want quilt shops to be able to open a Moda catalog and discover something for every kind of maker—from the traditional quilter to the modern sewist and everyone in between.

So this time, we decided to make room for everyone with a new introduction showcased is this issue. Our cover celebrates the designers with new introductions in this catalog and, more importantly, the creative community they represent. Different personalities. Different styles. Different inspirations. All brought together by a love of fabric and the things we make with it.

With Love by Kristy makes her Moda debut with Under the Same Sky. Filled with color, creativity, and a wonderful sense of optimism, the collection introduces Kristy’s distinctive artistic voice while offering plenty of possibilities for quilts, projects, and creative play. We can’t wait for you to get to know Kristy and see where her Moda journey takes her. We’re equally delighted to introduce Stacey Lee Creative with her debut collection, Posy. Just as its name suggests, Posy feels like gathering a cheerful little bouquet—fresh, colorful, charming, and full of personality. Stacey brings her own joyful perspective to fabric design, and we’re thrilled to add her creativity to the Moda mix. Of course, being part of Moda has always been about more than fabric collections. It is about relationships—with our designers, our sales team, our staff, our quilt shops, and ultimately the makers who turn a stack of fabric into something personal. That is what this cover represents.

It’s not simply a collection of photographs. It’s a snapshot of a creative community—established designers alongside new faces, each bringing something uniquely their own to the table while cheering one another on. New ! r e n g i s De Posy was inspired by my love of vintage design and all the little endearing details that make it so timeless. Filled with cheerful florals, hearts, checks, petals, and sweet coordinating prints, I wanted the collection to feel joyful, pretty, and nostalgic while still fresh, playful, and modern. My husband, Niels, is Dutch, so the tulips woven throughout the collection have a special meaning for me. The palette brings together my favorite colors, giving Posy versatility that feels just as at home in a cozy fall quilt as it does in a fun summer project. A mix of feature prints and useful blenders makes it easy to sew with and easy to love. I hope Posy becomes part of your everyday handmade moments and brings you as much joy as it has brought me.

Hi, I'm Stacey, the designer and maker behind Stacey Lee Creative. Five years ago, I started a YouTube channel to share the creative things I loved making. Web Pattern Hopscotch 47" x 47" It didn't take long for quilting to become the heart Free pattern will be available on the Moda website of Stacey Lee Creative. I had no idea where it would lead, and I certainly never imagined I would one day be introducing my debut fabric collection with Moda Fabrics. This really is a pinch-me moment. I'm originally from New Zealand and now live in Florida with my husband, Niels, our three children, and our dog, Rocky, who you'll sometimes spot in my videos. Niels takes care of the technical side of Stacey Lee Creative, from filming and editing to everything else that keeps the business running.

I create step by step sewing and quilting tutorials and beginner friendly patterns because I love helping my audience discover the joy of quilting. One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is seeing someone finish a project they're proud of. After all, a finished quilt is a perfect quilt. In addition, I organize an annual quilt donation drive for children entering foster care, which has become one of the most meaningful parts of what I do. Watching our quilting community come together to provide comfort through something handmade reminds me just how generous and caring quilters truly are. I'm so excited to introduce Posy, and I can't wait to see what you make with it.

The MAGPIE collection is named after a charming & fascinating little bird that is one of nature’s famous collectors. Have you heard the legend that a magpie is known for collecting bright & shiny objects and stealing them away to hoard in its nest? I know many of us can relate to that when it comes to the last bits of our favorite prints!! Magpie is a group of some of my all time favorites and a few new additions of the kinds of “go to” prints that I reach for again & again and never want to be without! These treasured prints accompanied by my signature soft and warm Fig Tree rainbow of saturated colors is definitely what you will find me sewing with for many projects to come. They are perfect on their own but also meant to serve as print and color bridges between all of those favorite Fig Tree fabrics that you can’t live without.

Like so many quilters, I have fond memories of time spent in fabric stores as a child. Looking at the fabric was fun, but I usually went straight for the pattern books and, specifically, the Crafts sections of those books. They were filled with a whole wonderful world of themed potholders and placemats, patchwork holiday decorations, stuffed animals wearing clothes, and so much more. My new collection, Toast & Jam, is inspired by those fun and fabulous crafts patterns of the1970s and 80s, and the small-scale calico fabrics that were so often used to make them. It’s warm and cozy and colorful – perfect for vintageinspired sewing! I also have 20 yarn-dyed cotton/ linen fabrics – Moda’s new CXL woven substrate – that are being released alongside Toast and Jam. The warp and weft in each of these are different colors, adding richness to the texture of the linen. They look great on their own, or with Toast and Jam! 32

Kristy Kay is a color-loving artist and textile designer living in Los Angeles with her partner, daughter, and two friendly dogs. Growing up surrounded by makers, she spent her childhood drawing, painting, and collecting treasures that might someday become something new. Her work draws inspiration from mid-century design, graphic 1960s illustration, folk art, and a lifelong love of color and storytelling.

A Vintage Christmas II was inspired by a box of vintage Christmas wrapping paper found in Dad’s barn, a rusty jingle bell wreath, homemade stick tree ornaments, and holiday greetings. The newest installment in the Ruby Star Society Projects with Purpose is the Animal Panimal! This panel is, in some ways, a follow up to our designers' fan favorite collaborative collection, Animal Animal. They felt inspired by the animals in that collection, and pooled together their animal prints from the last few years to create this adorable animal-centric panel! Each square measures at 6", and finishes at 5.5". The Animal Panimal profits will go to the Artist Boat, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote awareness and preservation of coastal margins and the marine environment through the disciplines of the sciences and the arts.

Oh how I love Halloween. My mom made Halloween creative and exciting and full of traditions. She would get my sisters and me dreaming about our costumes every spring so she could get started sewing and constructing them. Under our mom's guidance and through her craftsmanship, my sisters and I grew up fully committed to the bit whenever we dressed up for Halloween. Over the years she made so many amazing costumes. From Marie Antoinette to Chewbacca, to zombie prom girl, my mom has done it all. My parents are both so creative and made Halloween such a magical time of year. My mom still goes all out for Halloween and this collection is for her. My Halloween Queen!

No idea was too wild for mom to find a way to make it work. Like most kids of the 70's and 80's I was obsessed with Star Wars. Flipping through the pattern books at the fabric store I saw the Ewok costume pattern and my choice was made. My mom let me choose the fake fur from the piles of colorful, fluffy rolls at the shop. When you are four and you have favorite colors, you go with those. And so, my mom made me a costume that has gone down in infamy in my family as the scariest costume ever. I was a red ewok with a purple hood and I can only imagine the looks of bewilderment because all I remember is being thrilled with my choices and the lovingly made costume by my mom.

For my first solo Halloween collection, Boo Valley I brought back some classic prints of mine from collaborative and solo collections of the past. Halloween cats, bird witches, adorable pumpkins, and skeleton marigolds—I loved drawing and sketching all of the elements for Halloween Fable print.

For a classic halloween basic I also included my Moon and Stars print. This print was inspired by antique Halloween fabrics and cute seasonal calicos and I love including it in my collections.

I drew up all of my favorite Halloween things for the tossed print, My Favorite Things, which is the same scale as my print from Ooh Lucky Lucky.

I recolored my Granny Square print in festive colors that can easily step outside of Halloween.

I grew up in the 1980s in a Central Valley suburb in California. I dabbled in Barbie and Fashion Plates, but at heart I was a sticker girlie. Scratch and sniff stickers, puffy stickers with googly eyes and silky embossed fabric, Ms. Grossman’s and Toots, Lisa Frank, mylar window stickers, Wacky packages, you name it. If I got $10 for my birthday I obsessively plotted out which stickers I would get from the mall stationery store. I wrote letters to sticker companies and they would send me free samples - it was glorious!

My newest collection, Sticker Book, is a nostalgic tribute to the world of stickers and the extended universe of school and office supplies. Unicorn is a tribute to my favorite window decal that hung in my bedroom along with my Prince, Michael Jackson, and Hall and Oates posters. Yeah that’s right, I had a crush on Oates!?

My grandmother Sybil and her husband Wilmot were always impeccably dressed. My grandparents raised me and their house was always so fancy to me. My grandmother's dresser was so fascinating to me when I was a little girl. It had a beautiful ornate mirror, with beautiful trays that had perfumes, and jewelry boxes, and a powder puff all laid out on top of a lace runner. I used to explore her jewelry and smell all of the different perfumes and pose in her mirror and play dress up as if I were "a fancy grown up" like her.

Magnolia's - They are Miss Sybil's favorite flower. There is a tree in her front yard. 166

I loved looking at the old photo albums of their home and life in the Caribbean before they moved to the US in the 70s. They were always so dressed up, hats and gloves, beautiful handbags, like in a vintage magazine. SO, so classy.

The Women (Named for one of my favorite movies. The one from 1939!) Revisiting some of my favorite types of prints to create. I made a new ladies print! Lots of color and movement!
