LETTER FROM THE GENERAL MANAGER lthough there’s not a lot of capital projects going on currently at the MAC, we’ve been busy behind the scenes upgrading our systems to make for a more seamless experience at the Club! The first thing we did for the Downtown Clubhouse was an overall assessment of security to figure out where we had some shortcomings and areas we could improve upon, which ended up creating a domino effect. We started with upgrading all of our hotel room locks on the doors that were antiquated. The new fobs feature new technology, and because of this, we had to go ahead and upgrade our front-of-house software for the hotel. In the process of doing that, we upgraded the locks on the doors around the perimeters of the Downtown Clubhouse and access into and out of the building. Garage operations are going to be changing, too, with the additional of several new equipment components that will be all automated and allow us to track what cars are coming and going. We have new lights going up in between the garage and the Clubhouse building so we have a safe walkway. We’ve also hired armed police and security guards for big events to give our Members and guests peace of mind as they cross between the garage and the building. At this point, we’re probably one of the safest blocks in Downtown St. Louis, and having the Federal Reserve as our neighbor definitely helps. In line with all of these upgrades, we’re going to be changing website vendors in March. The new website will feature improved functionality and will make signing up for classes and making

reservations much easier than it has in the past. The new website will also consolidate and streamline our whole billing process. This means we’re going to need to have our Members go in and update their profiles so we can kick off this new website with a clean set of data. Keep an eye on your emails and upcoming Club communication on how to do that in the coming weeks. Tied to the new website will be a new MACbranded mobile app that will also streamline the Member experience. The app will allow Members to make reservations, pay bills, check schedules, browse menus and more – all on the go. We’re also hoping to make the app be your access in and out of the garage, so keep an eye out for that added feature, too! These are all things we’ve been working on behind the scenes, and there are a lot of moving parts at play. All of it is aimed at having a safer, more secure building that you feel comfortable coming down to and enjoying. The MAC is on the move and has been since 1903. We came together as an all-men’s Olympic club originally and introduced our first female Member in 1988: Jackie Joyner-Kersee. In 2021, we have our first female President in Angie Minges. She takes office in May, and we know she’ll do a great job. Congratulations, President-Elect Minges! F

Due to West Clubhouse Food and Beverage closure in November, we have credited any unused minimums for December and the Membership classifications that have minimums baked into their dues. These credits will be showing up on your statements. We intend to do this through February and reevaluate at that time. F
