Nantucket Arts Festival Opening & Exhibit Reception
6-8pm Preservation Hall, Centre St. FREE (suggested donation of $10). Celebrate the Arts Festival kick-off with the community show premiere. Enjoy wine, music and art at this unusual exhibit curated by Nantucket Arts Council President, Reggie Levine, along with Nantucket Arts Council board members Mary Emery and Tara Young. The exhibit title this year is: “Scanning A Myriad of Possibilities: Postulating the Unpredictable.” “The idea behind this exhibition is to concentrate on those areas in the visual arts not often seen and featured in most galleries on the island, to focus on those artists who are willing and eager to take chances and explore new ways of seeing, and to applaud and encourage those artists who have shifted direction from what was a safe though successful expression to a more adventuresome and risk taking manner.” - Reggie Levine.
