lena Anatiychuk is the director of the «PLYAZH» aquapark, one of the largest water sports and entertainment complexes in Ukraine. It offers visitors 10 water slides, 5 swimming pools, 5 different baths, Jacuzzis, gyms, massage rooms, cosmetology, salt room, restaurant and bars. The «PLYAZH» complex takes an active part in the public life of Lviv, cooperates with many PA that take care of displaced persons, orphanages and people with special needs.
– How can we distract ourselves from the terrible events in the country today, because a person cannot be under constant stress? – In my opinion, it is important for a person to understand that it is not a crime to let yourself to relax distracting from negative news. When you give yourself the opportunity to rest a little it does not mean becoming a traitor. Having positive emotions and rest is a physiological need of the body and nervous system. Of course, we could do more tasks and solve more problems if we could stay awake, but that is impossible. The same applies to positive emotions. Just 3 years ago, «getting out of your comfort zone» meant getting out of a calm and positive life. Now, unfortunately, most people hardly see opportunities, prospects, interesting and good moments in life. Such thoughts and emotions lead to complex depressive states. That is why it is necessary sometimes even to force oneself to
be distracted by something other than war and survival. – As a company director, tell us how you support the emotional state of employees? Can you give some advice? – I have been working with my team for more than 15 years. Someone goes, someone comes. The relationship is the same as in a family. This is how I perceive it when I hire employees. My workers are like my children. They should be confident in me as a leader and understand that I am on their side, open to dialogue, ready to support everyone. – Aquapark «PLYAZH» is a sports and entertainment complex. Is it difficult to maintain this type of business under the current conditions? – Yes, not easy. It is necessary to constantly take into account external circumstances and moods of people: both visitors and employees. That is why we often change the emphasis
on different services. When we see an extremely low emotional state, we try to implement as many sports programs as possible. After all, physical activity is a great medicine for depression. When the situation stabilizes somewhat, we recommend the entertainment part. People need useful rest and positive emotions. We offer active recreation on the water, especially swimming, if there are no contraindications. Water has long been considered the best antidepressant. We provide services for both children from 6 months and adults! – What advice would you give to future entrepreneurs who want to start a business in today’s realities? – In today’s conditions, it is easier to start a business than to maintain an existing one. Everything related to the war, to the service of the military, is in the foreground. However, this does not mean that everyone can and should provide these needs directly. You can join indirectly. Life is many-sided. Do not forget about the original idea of your business. If it was successful before the war, now there are also chances! If there were problems even before that, don’t blame external circumstances. I always evaluate the resources I have and try to understand how I can use them in the given conditions.
