NCO ACADEMY The U.S. Army Transportation Center Noncommissioned Officer Academy was organized Jan. 1, 1987 by direction of the Training and Doctrine Command and the U.S. Army Transportation and Aviation Logistics Schools. The USATCFE NCO Academy is located at 650 Monroe Ave.
FELKER ARMY AIRFIELD Felker Army Airfield, located on historic Mulberry Island at 2408 Condon Rd., is the Army’s first military heliport, designed in 1949 and dedicated in 1954 with Igor Sikorsky in attendance. Felker is an all-weather, full-service airfield, hosting six tenant organizations and providing a major site for Navy and Marine Corps helicopter training operations. As a member of Joint Base Langley-Eustis, the airfield is subordinate to the 1st Fighter Wing located at Langley Air Force Base. Tenants include: Training and Doctrine Command Flight Detachment, Aviation Applied Technology Directorate Flight Facility, 5th Battalion of the 159th Aviation Regiment, U.S. Army Aviation Logistics School, U.S. Air Force Detachment 1, 18th Weather Squadron, and Westwind Technologies Aviation Repair Facility.

NCO Academy The Eustis Noncommissioned Officers Academy is a joint partnership between the Transportation and Aviation Corp Regiments. The Academy’s mission is to produce noncommissioned officers grounded in a leadership framework promoting Army values and the warrior ethos; confidently and competently leading Soldiers in combat; and successfully performing their doctrinal war fighting roles in full spectrum operations within the contemporary operational environment. The commandant is a command sergeant major who works directly under the supervision of the Center commanding general and the Regimental command sergeant major. The Academy is fully accredited by the Training and Doctrine Command. Fort Eustis offers excellent training, maneuver and range areas to support all facets of training needed to conduct 26 noncommissioned officer education system courses. Its unique port facility, beachheads, wooded training sites and excellent roadway systems provide optimal opportunities for shared and multifunctional transportation training, such as Joint LogisticsOver-The-Shore exercises. The airfield and technical aviation lab and bay facilities provide a one-of-a-kind atmosphere needed to produce quality aviation logistics maintenance NCOs.
