Michael Quantrell is an accomplished Captain with over 20 years of experience in yacht engineering, estate management, and competitive racing. His career includes managing multimillion-dollar refits and overseeing vessel deliveries along the East Coast. He has demonstrated consistent leadership in various challenging conditions, including navigating through Category 4 Hurricane Irma in Florida in 2017. His passion for the water began in his youth while growing up in Camden, Maine. From an early age, he spent much of his time sailing or skiing competitively. Michael earned three medals at the Junior Olympics, including a bronze and a silver in the Laser Class Division. His sailing career extended to professional racing programs in New Zealand, New England, and England. In high school, he excelled in skiing and later participated in Friday night lights skiing events in Maine for a decade. Even while living in Florida, he continued competing, winning all three qualifiers in the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge and securing victories in other smaller competitions. He began his professional career at the age of 18, captaining and managing vessels ranging from 20 to 120 feet and operating yachts up to 112 feet, most recently working on a 100-foot ship. Quantrell has overseen extensive yacht refits, transforming vessels into highly functional and well-maintained assets. His work has included transporting ships from Mexico and throughout the United States, including Florida, the Bahamas, and the East Coast. For nearly five years, he has owned and operated Ox Eye Marine Corporation, managing multiple yachts from 40 to 112 feet across the Eastern Seaboard, Bahamas, and Caribbean. The company provides complete vessel management services, including project coordination, crew placement, systems analysis, refits, overseas shipping, sales, and event participation.
