Michael Hopkins from Denver has built his professional path by combining practical experience with a focus on improving the travel environment. Over time, he has worked as an author, inventor, operations manager, and CEO. His interest in creating better airport rest options began years earlier, rooted in observations he made while living and traveling in Europe. Those experiences later inspired the invention of the Aeropod and the formation of Napstar, a company dedicated to providing private rest pods for travelers across the United States. During his early years, Michael lived in Europe and attended Zweibrücken Air Force High School in Germany, where he graduated in 1985. Growing up overseas exposed him to a variety of transportation systems and airport settings, giving him a broad perspective on how travelers move through different environments. After returning to the United States, he continued his education at the University of Missouri in St. Louis, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990. His professional career started in 1989 when he joined United Parcel Service in St. Louis. As he gained experience, Michael took on the role of Hub Operations Supervisor, overseeing sales pickup routes and managing operational start times for multiple teams. His work contributed to reducing service failures by 40 percent, demonstrating his ability to identify operational challenges and implement solutions. He later became an Outbound Primary Sort Supervisor, guiding teams that sorted and routed large volumes of packages. These years helped him develop a strong understanding of logistics, workforce coordination, and safety. His efforts were recognized through several Safety and Service Awards in 1991, 1993, 1994, 1997, and 1998. In January 2005, Michael founded Napstar, LLC in Denver. As owner and manager, he led business development, oversaw research and marketing efforts, and managed company accounts.
